ECS understands that being in control of your own life is one of the most important things when growing older.

Having your independence, choices and doing the things that you want to do should be the foundation of your support plan and it should include the activities you like doing.

If you currently receive assistance from Social Services you have the right to request a personal budget. A personal budget is paid directly to you for paying for care services. It will not effect any other benefits you currently receive.

Social Services will visit you re-assess your needs complete the necessary forms with you and your family / appointed person and within eight weeks you will start to receive your money.

Your preferred carers will become ECS carers and the only difference you will notice is how much better the choices in your life become.

More information regarding personal budgets can be found on the Governments web site www.direct.gov.uk just type 'personal budget for care' in the search this site bar in the top right hand side of the site and read the case studies.

Alternatively you can contact ECS by clicking on the ‘Contact ECS’ tab at the top of this page where you can either contact us on-line or call our Free Phone number 0800 505 30 87.
